Getting Started with InCountry Portal

InCountry is the leading SaaS provider of data-residency services for national companies and corporations that deal with regulated customer data. The company provides an end-to-end platform in more than 90 countries that imply requirements for storage and management of regulated data of their citizens.

To get access to the data-residency services of InCountry, you need to sign up to the Portal. You will then receive the credentials to start using the services and manage regulated data using the InCountry Platform.

Interface of InCountry Portal

Interface of InCountry Portal is comprised of the three areas.

AreaDescription
SidebarProvides the navigation to the main sections of InCountry Portal.
HeaderShows the information about the currently logged in user and the company
Main areaShows the content of the currently opened section of InCountry Portal.

GettingStarted

You can make the sidebar collapsible to increase the width of the main area. To enable the automatic collapsing of the sidebar, click the Collapse icon.

Sections of InCountry Portal

InCountry Portal is divided into sections that provides specific functionality for fulfilling particular objectives.

File ImportFile ImportProvides the functionality to import CSV files with protected data into the InCountry Platform.
User ManagementUser ManagementProvides the functionality to manage users who can work within the scope of your organization on InCountry Portal.
Secret Keys ManagementSecret Keys ManagementProvides the functionality to generate new secret keys for encryption of data records that you save to InCountry Platform.
RecommendationsRecommendationsProvides the functionality to identify the optimal locations for storing and processing regulated data in InCountry Platform.
PlansPlansProvides the functionality to subscribe to the paid plans of InCountry Platform.
DocumentationDocumentationProvides quick access to the documentation of the InCountry Portal.

Access to the sections of InCountry Portal is regulated by the role-based policy, so the accessibility of a specific section depends on your role within the organization. For the details on roles, see Managing Users.

Signing up to InCountry Portal

To start using the data-residency services provided by InCountry Platform, you need to sign up to the Portal. Once you create an account, you can proceed to using the InCountry Platform for managing the regulated data in different countries.

  1. Open the browser.

  2. In the address line, enter address of InCountry Portal - https://portal.incountry.com/.

  3. Press Enter to proceed to this address. Once InCountry Portal loads, you will see the home page similar to the following:

  4. On the home page, click Sign Up. The New Account form opens, as follows:

  5. In the New Account form, specify the following information to create a new account:

    1. Country - select the country in which you want to store the regulated data.

    2. Company name - enter the name of the company which you represent.

    3. Email Address - enter your email address. This email address will be used as login to authenticate in InCountry Portal.

    4. Password - enter the password following the password requirements. Confirm the password.

  6. Move the toggle right to indicate that you agree to the InCountry Terms of Service. Account creation is not possible without accepting the terms of service.

  7. Move the toggle right if you want to receive emails with the latest news and tips from InCountry. You can skip this if you want.

  8. Check the box to pass the anti-robot protection.

  9. When complete, click Submit. Once you have submitted the request for account creation, you will see the confirmation screen.

  10. To continue with the account creation, proceed to your email account which you specified during the signup. You should receive an email with the confirmation link. Open this email and click Confirm your email or the confirmation link below the button.

  11. Once you have confirmed your email address, you will see the screen similar to the following:

Congratulations! Now you can can sign in to InCountry Portal with the credentials (email address and password) you specified during the signup.

Signing in to InCountry Portal

Once you have signed up to InCountry Portal and confirmed your email address, you can proceed to signing in to the Portal.

  1. Open the browser.

  2. In the address line, enter address of InCountry Portal - https://portal.incountry.com/login

  3. Press Enter to open the address. The home page of InCountry Portal opens, as follows:

  4. On the home page of the Portal, click Sign In.

  5. In the Sign In form, enter the following:

    1. Email address - enter the email address which you used during the signup.

    2. Password - enter the password which you specified during the signup.

  6. When complete, click Submit. InCountry Portal will send the confirmation code to your email. Open the mailbox and copy the confirmation code.

  7. In the Confirmation Code form, paste the code you receive.

  8. When complete, click Submit.

Resending the confirmation email

In some situation you may need to request the resending of a confirmation email if it was not delivered to you during your signup due to some connectivity issues.

  1. Open the browser.

  2. In the address line, enter address of InCountry Portal - https://portal.incountry.com/.

  3. Press Enter to proceed to this address.

  4. Click Resend email confirmation.

  5. In the Resend Confirmation form, enter the email address you used to sign up to InCountry Portal.

  6. Check the box that you are not a robot.

  7. Click Submit.

  8. Open your mailbox and check it for the confirmation email.

  9. Follow the instructions in the confirmation email to confirm your email address and further sign in to InCountry Portal and start using the data residency services.

note

If you have already confirmed your email address, the confirmation email is not sent to your email.

Recovering the password

You may need to recover the password of your account on InCountry Portal if you have accidentally forgotten it.

  1. Open the browser.

  2. In the address line, enter address of InCountry Portal - https://portal.incountry.com/.

  3. Press Enter to proceed to this address.

  4. Click Forgot password?.

    Send Recovery Link

  5. In the Send Recovery Link form, enter the email address you used to sign up to InCountry Portal.

  6. Check the box that you are not a robot.

  7. Click Submit.

  8. Open your mailbox and check it for the confirmation email with the subject InCountry - Password Reset.

  9. Open the email and click Proceed to password reset. Alternatively, you can click the link below the button to proceed to the password reset.

  10. In the New Password form, enter a new password and confirm it.

  11. Check the box that you are not a robot.

  12. Click Submit.

  13. Sign in to InCountry Portal with the new password.

Logging out

By default, InCountry Portal logs you out within the 15-minute of inactivity. In situations when you no longer need to use InCountry Portal you can log out of it forcedly.

  1. In the top right part of the screen, locate your email address and click it.

  2. In the appeared menu, click Logout.

  3. In the Logout Options form, select the logout options, as follows:

    • All Sessions - click this option to terminate all user sessions to InCountry Portal on all devices that you used to sign in to InCountry Portal.

    • Current Session - click this option to terminate the user session on the current device and keep user sessions on other devices.

  4. Click the appropriate logout option.

InCountry Portal logs you out of the system.
